Professor Emeritus Fowler Receives Award for Contributions to Accounting

This fall, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) announced the recipients of their first ever "Sustained Contribution" award. Anna Cook Fowler, MBA '70, Ph.D '77 and accounting professor emeritus, was one of the 51 honorees.

The CPAs recognized are members of the AICPA who have contributed to both the institute and the profession through volunteer work. Each honoree has been involved with the AICPA for at least 20 years, and has also serverd as chair of at least one committee, task force or panel at the institute.

In the award press release, Kathy Eddy, chair of the AICPA awards committee, explained that each honoree has contributed to the AICPA in ways that well help strengthen the accounting profession in the future.
